PLEASE BE ADVISED... these videos are real life videos of real life attacks. Therefore, many of them contain very disturbing content that may not be suitable for younger viewers. In addition, because of the nature of these videos, many times they are found on websites with other content of "questionable character" advertised and available.

In spite of this, we have still chosen to link to these videos because, in the long run, our job is to make the public aware of what it takes to defend against a real attack in today's world. Therefore, we want you to be able to see how real attacks occur. It's one thing to talk about it in training, but another thing entirely when you can actually see it.

By linking to these sometimes questionable sites, WNC Center for Self Defense is in no way supporting, recommending, or otherwise advocating these sites other than to give our viewers access to realistic attack information. While these videos show real attacks, they are not put here to scare you into thinking you are in imminent danger of attack, but rather to give you the ability to see why we train realistically. The street is much different than training for sport. When you view these videos, notice how often others fail to rush in to help. Yes, sometimes they do, but not as often as one would hope. These videos portray the reason we stress that you are responsible for your own safety, and why we teach the mindset introduced to us by Lance Dauby of PAWS Defense ...

That mindset is having the NOT TODAY attitude... "You may have been better than me yesterday, you may be better than me tomorrow, but NOT TODAY. Today, I am going to WIN."

What a real knife attack looks like...

Husband attacking his wife with a knife IN PUBLIC in Turkey (audio is Turkish... sorry). Notice the people who walk by without helping. The first to help are police officers who were about 30 yards away. The woman was still stabbed 8 times (but lived, thankfully).
